RHODE ISLAND REDS
Temperament: Moderate personality and tend to be a more dominant breed.
Egg production: Lays a medium to large, rich colored brown egg. Great feed to egg ratio - this is one of the best egg producers.
Attributes: A large bodied, dual purpose (egg/meat) bird that is cool weather hardy. Usually between 5-6 lbs in size.
BLACK SEX LINK
Temperament: Tends to be a dominant breed.
Egg production: High producer of large, light brown colored eggs.
Attributes: A smaller framed bird, which matures rapidly, usually producing eggs at a younger age. This is a cross breed to maximize egg production. Cold weather hardy.
NEW HAMPSHIRE REDS
Temperament: Docile birds that make great pets.
Egg production: Great production of large brown eggs.
Attributes: Good dual purpose bird, large bodied usually between 5-6 lbs in size. Easy to work with. This bird has stunning red, gold and black plumage.
Temperament: Extremely docile birds.
Egg production: High egg production of extra large, light brown eggs.
Attributes: Good dual purpose bird that are easy to work with. Great backyard pet and egg producing bird.
Temperament: Extremely docile, which makes for a great pet.
Egg production: Good egg production of medium, light brown egg.
Attributes: Great egg/meat bird breed with gorgeous golden plume. Easy to work with. Also a meat bird being between 5-6 lbs in size. A good breed for hatching chicks.

Attributes: Easy to work with, large bodied bird usually between 5-6 lbs in size. Good breed for raising chicks and also a good roasting bird.
WHITE PLYMOUTH ROCKS
Temperament: Docile birds that make great pets.
Egg production: Good producer of medium to large dark brown eggs.
Attributes: Large breed usually between 5-6 lbs in size. Tend to be a good mothering chicken and good dual purpose breed. Pure white plumage.
SILVER LACED WYANDOTTE
Temperament: Normally very docile.
Egg production: Good producer of medium light brown eggs.
Attributes: Easy to work with and gorgeous to look at with black lacing on each feather with an almost silver center. Slow maturing large breed usually between 5-6 lbs in size. Good for mothering chicks.
Temperament: Active but curious birds.
Egg production: Producer of green or blue colored eggs.
Attributes: Also known as an "Easter Egger," eggs from these birds come in a vast array of colors - from turquoise to olive green to shades of brown. Great foragers for free ranging and good at keeping safe from predators. Can be very noisy - which can double as good watch-dogs. These birds have feathers creating a beard or cheeks on their faces.
Temperament: Depending on breed can be docile to more active.
Egg production: Small production of mini eggs in a variety of colors.
Attributes: These birds are generally one fourth the size of the average chicken and thus good for smaller spaces. They are adorable and make great pets. The smaller breeds make amazing mothers.
Temperament: A more active, vocal bird.
Egg production: A prolific large white egg layer.
Attributes: A great forager for free ranging and can lay up to 340 eggs a year. Smaller bodied bird, 3-4 lbs.
JUMBO CORNISH ROCK CROSSES
Temperament: Extremely docile.
Meat production: A high yielding meat bird with about 2lbs of feed per 1lb of meat. Ready for the production in 6-8 weeks for a 3-5 pound bird.
Attributes: A great production bird, a cross between two breeds to create a tasty bird for roasting or frying.
Temperament: Docile, very relaxed not high energy.
Meat production: Rapid growth, ready for production in 5 months.
Egg production: Good production of large white eggs with a rich yoke. This is the best commercial and economically friendly breed with a high egg to feed ratio.
Attributes: Smart, like to be in flocks. This bird has pure white plumage and a bright orange bill and feet.
Temperament: Social animals preferring to congregate in groups or flocks of varying sizes.
Egg production: Eight to thirteen creamy white to greenish-buff spotless eggs, every other day.
Attributes: Slightly heavier than most other dabbling ducks. Male birds have a glossy green head and are grey on wings and belly while the females have mainly brown-speckled plumage. Both sexes have an area of white-bordered black or iridescent blue feathers called a speculum on their wings.
